Six years prior to Montana statehood, on December 16, 1883, a chilly Sunday in the Gallatin Valley saw the first meeting of the Baptist church in Bozeman. Those early services were held in Chestnut Hall, the second floor of “Chestnut’s Folly” - a Bozeman saloon! Dr. Byron Morse, a physician from Salt Lake City was the first pastor of the church. Over 125 years later, Bozeman has changed quite a bit much is still the same. We are committed to the good news of God in Jesus Christ. We are committed to the study of the Bible as our sole rule of faith and to being a witness to that truth and all of its goodness and beauty.
